Mr. Alexander Kibandama
Board Chairperson

Mr. Kibandama is a legal and regulatory expert with extensive experience of about 20 years advising on key mandates in the ICT, energy and infrastructure sectors in Uganda. He holds an LLB (Hons) (Makerere University), Diploma Legal Practice (Law Development Centre) and is an advocate of the High Court of the Republic of Uganda.He has also been involved in major infrastructure projects in Uganda with a total investment value exceeding USD 6 Billion. 
In terms of policy and regulatory expertise, he has advised on the development of the ICT laws and regulations, climate change law and on the development of the PPP Guidelines for the Government of Uganda. He brings much needed legal, regulatory, policy and business advisory expertise to the board

The National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) is the government agency mandated to coordinate, promote and monitor information technology development in Uganda, in line with national social and economic goals. We run the National Backbone Infrastructure, the National Data Centre, UGPass and UGHub, certify IT service providers, and host the Personal Data Protection Office.
