The National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) is the government agency mandated to coordinate, promote and monitor information technology development in Uganda, in line with national social and economic goals. We run the National Backbone Infrastructure, the National Data Centre, UGPass and UGHub, certify IT service providers, and host the Personal Data Protection Office.

NITA-U coordinates, promotes and monitors information technology development across Government and the wider Ugandan economy. The Service Desk is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
