Mr. Michael Ocero

Mr. Michael Ocero holds a Masters Degree in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Business Computing Degree from Makerere University in Uganda. He also holds accreditation with specific Information Technology Brands.

He presently serves as the Acting Commissioner I.T Department at the Ministry of I.C.T and National Guidance where he is responsible for evolving and overseeing implementation of Policies, Laws and Regulations regarding Information Technology. Previously, he worked as a Systems Engineer and Principal Network Administrator in the Private Sector and as a Tutor at the Uganda Institute of Information Technology. Michael also has experience in the management and deployment of Information technology solutions ranging from e-commerce to Network Infrastructure projects

The National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) is the government agency mandated to coordinate, promote and monitor information technology development in Uganda, in line with national social and economic goals. We run the National Backbone Infrastructure, the National Data Centre, UGPass and UGHub, certify IT service providers, and host the Personal Data Protection Office.
