The PDPO registers all entities that collect and process personal data so they can be identified, monitored and regulated. The Office maintains a public register at pdpo.go.ug/search-register.

The National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) is the government agency mandated to coordinate, promote and monitor information technology development in Uganda, in line with national social and economic goals. We run the National Backbone Infrastructure, the National Data Centre, UGPass and UGHub, certify IT service providers, and host the Personal Data Protection Office.
