Work space for BPO & Incubation

We offer specialized services under the banner of "Work Space for BPO & Incubation" aimed at fostering the growth of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and tech startups. Here's an overview of what NITA-U provides:

  • BPO Incubation Centre: NITA-U has established a significant 240-seater BPO Incubation Centre located on the 4th floor of Statistics House in Kampala. This facility is designed to provide a conducive environment for BPO operations, reducing the initial investment costs for companies entering this sector. It serves as a practical space where new BPO entities can start their operations while benefiting from shared infrastructure and resources.
  • Infrastructure Support: The incubation center is equipped with necessary office space, IT tools, and administrative support. This includes high-speed internet connectivity, workstations, and shared office amenities like meeting rooms and conference facilities, all geared towards enhancing productivity and efficiency.
  • Training and Employment: NITA-U supports the training of graduates for BPO roles, with a notable initiative where 500 graduates were trained, some of whom have been directly absorbed into the BPO sector or have progressed to supervisory roles within the Incubation Centre. This not only aids in job creation but also in skill development tailored to the needs of the BPO industry.
  • Promotion of BPO: Through various strategies, NITA-U has been instrumental in promoting BPO in Uganda. This includes organizing regional conferences and exhibitions, which have helped in networking and increasing visibility for Ugandan BPO services on both national and international platforms.
  • Support for ITES/BPO Development: NITA-U plays a pivotal role in developing the IT Enabled Services (ITES)/BPO sector in Uganda. They have developed strategies, models, and guidelines for incentives to support this industry's growth, ensuring that businesses have the framework to succeed.
  • Community Impact: By running the BPO Incubation Centre through a private sector partnership, indirect employment opportunities have been created in various sectors like food services, security, transport, and cleaning, thus contributing to the broader economy.
  • Innovation and Research: NITA-U encourages innovation by providing an environment where startups can access necessary technology and mentorship, fostering innovation in IT solutions that can be integrated into government services or exported as BPO services.

This service by NITA-U is part of a broader mission to advance Uganda's digital economy, making it an attractive destination for BPO operations and tech incubation while also enhancing local employment and skill development.
