NITA-U provides reliable and high-speed Internet Bandwidth services to all government entities in Uganda through the National Backbone Infrastructure (NBI). NITA-U’s Internet Bandwidth service is a cornerstone of its mission to empower government entities with the necessary technological infrastructure to drive Uganda’s digital transformation agenda.

The National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) is the government agency mandated to coordinate, promote and monitor information technology development in Uganda, in line with national social and economic goals. We run the National Backbone Infrastructure, the National Data Centre, UGPass and UGHub, certify IT service providers, and host the Personal Data Protection Office.
