NITA-U installs and manages dedicated drop-offs — the connection points where the main network line terminates — giving government sites, offices and devices reliable access to the National Backbone Infrastructure.
The National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) is the government agency mandated to coordinate, promote and monitor information technology development in Uganda, in line with national social and economic goals. We run the National Backbone Infrastructure, the National Data Centre, UGPass and UGHub, certify IT service providers, and host the Personal Data Protection Office.
